About Me
Hi, I’m Paxton Kim-Tang, a soon to be ninth grader in Southern California.
When I was a child, I was fascinated by coins. I would spend hours counting the amounts and showing my parents. But as I got older, I realized money was much more complicated than just a few pennies, and many adults told me that I shouldn’t worry about money right now. Being the introvert that I am, I just went along with what they said, but was never able to shake my curiosity.
Later on, many of my teachers started talking about the importance of money and some even played money games with the class. I learned that, according to a survey by the National Financial Educators Council, 62% of all adult Americans reported losses of about $0-$500 in the past year due to financial illiteracy in 2022 alone. The earlier kids learn more about money, the better off they’ll be later on in life. That’s why I started Coinly.
The mission of Coinly is to educate children in a fun and safe manner about money, so they’ll be able to make good decisions, start to invest, and learn how to be financially independent. Coinly is mainly based in Youtube, and new content will be added about every 2 weeks. Our website will also have fun facts, links, and Q&As on topics ranging from quarter collections to investing. The funny thing about money is that it will always add up.
